Liverpool have reportedly included Kalvin Phillips on their shortlist for the January transfer window, with the England international expected to leave Manchester City.
According to TalkSport, the Reds, as well as Fulham, Newcastle United and Tottenham, are all interested in a move for Phillips in 2024, with the 27-year-old likely to depart the Premier League champions.
Phillips has hardly featured for City since joining the club last year, with the midfielder now keen to depart the Etihad Stadium side to ensure his place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2024.

Lauded by Southgate himself as an ‘excellent’ player, Liverpool’s search for a natural defensive midfielder could lead them to Phillips, who could be an ideal option.
Even though the former Leeds Untied star is contracted to City, there should be a good chance of Liverpool securing the midfielder’s signature given his grave situation.
Moreover, Phillips himself could push through a move in January to Anfield, especially if Liverpool show enough interest in signing the midfielder.
Liverpool should try to sign Phillips despite City rivalry

Signing Phillips will be no easy task for Liverpool, yet even with the midfielder a City player, the Anfield side must still try and bring the England international to Merseyside.
For what Liverpool need in a midfielder, Phillips ticks almost every possible box, with Jurgen Klopp also a dream manager for the former Leeds star.
If Liverpool can get a deal done under budget, then there’s every chance that the Reds can secure Phillips, even with Premier League competition now strong for the midfielder.
