John Aldridge has slammed Mohamed Salah’s performance for Liverpool this weekend in their 1-1 draw against Luton Town.

Writing for the Liverpool Echo, the former Anfield hero was critical of the winger’s display on Sunday night as the £34m attacker failed to do much at Kenilworth Road.

Aldridge said when talking about which players disappointed him against Luton: “Mo Salah too – he wasn’t top of his game.”

It was arguably Salah’s worst performance to date in a Liverpool shirt this season, though the squad as a whole were way below par as Luis Diaz came on late to secure a crucial point for the Reds.

With Tottenham losing on Monday night, though, Liverpool are actually gained some ground in the title race, with Manchester City now back on top by one point.

Indeed, things could have been different had Liverpool turned up on Sunday, and Salah will feel annoyed with his performance, which could not have gone worse for the Egyptian winger.

A draw away to Luton is far from ideal, with Liverpool fully aware that results like this against lesser teams was the crux behind their poor form for all of last season.

And for Salah, the winger will want to respond with Liverpool in a big way, with two key games coming up this week in the former of Toulouse in Europe and Brentford in the league.

The superstar attacker knows that he can be a force for good in the Liverpool attack, and Salah will want to be back to his best this week in two big fixtures for the Reds.
