Owen Hargreaves has suggested that Liverpool signing Joao Palhinha could be what helps the Reds secure the Premier League title.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, the former Manchester United midfielder claimed that the £80m-rated Fulham star could be the missing piece for Jurgen Klopp if he wants to win the title.
Palhinha was linked with a move to Liverpool this summer as the Portuguese international was also rumoured with a move to Bayern Munich, with a move almost materialising.

And heading into January, Palhinha is expected to be under even more intense transfer scrutiny, with the midfielder once again enjoying another fantastic year in the Premier League.
Indeed, a defensive midfielder could be a lifesaver for Liverpool in 2024, and Hargreaves now thinks Palhinha would be a dream signing in the January window.
The pundit said: “They’re missing one thing, and that’s a defensive midfielder. I think if Palhinha plays for Liverpool, they can win the league, he’s that good.”

Liverpool arguably made a mistake not signing a natural defensive midfielder in the January transfer window, with Alexis Mac Allister struggling to fill to role in some aspects this season.
And as a result, the Reds signing Palhinha could be an immense move from Liverpool and one that could actually make Jurgen Klopp’s side favourites for the title in 2024.
Whilst a transfer might break the bank, there’s no denying that a player of Palhinha’s qualities are exactly what Liverpool need, and the move could be worth it in the long-term.
