Fabrizio Romano has said that Liverpool are yet to make a revised move for Andre Trindande as the midfielder helped Fluminense make history this weekend.
Speaking to CaughtOffside, the transfer guru detailed that the Reds are yet to make another pounce for the Brazilian star, who yesterday won the Copa Libertadores, the first in Fluminense’s history.
The £34m-rated midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool this year, with the Reds failing in the summer with a bid to sign Andre.
However, with January now approaching and the midfielder guiding his club to the biggest prize in South America, a transfer seems almost certain, with Liverpool still interested in Andre.
Romano said: “Liverpool keep tracking and following Andre, that’s for sure, he’s always been appreciated by people at the club including Jurgen Klopp.
“Still, until now, there is no update as the Copa Libertadores final is crucial for Andre and he didn’t want any distractions. This will be something to watch for the next months.”
Liverpool need to move fast for Andre ahead of January
Having made history with Fluminense in chaotic fashion, Andre’s stock has never been as high as it is now, and Liverpool need to act fast as a result.
The 22-year-old is one of the hottest properties out there in the South American market, and Liverpool know that rival clubs will now be paying attention to Andre and his qualities.
With January fast approaching, interest is sure to increase for Andre, and Liverpool need to ensure that they’re the side who secure the midfielder’s signature in 2024.
