Dominik Szoboszlai has hinted that playing alongside Erling Haaland now could make the Liverpool midfielder unstoppable.

Speaking to Match of the Day, the Liverpool midfielder admitted that it would be fun to reunite with his former RB Salzburg teammate one day, with Haaland and Szoboszlai now starring in the Premier League.

The duo were both key parts of the Salzburg side under Jesse Marsch that stole headlines in the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League, with the pair playing against Liverpool.

Some four years on, though, and Szoboszlai and Haaland have both developed into world-class players, and the now-Liverpool midfielder believes that it would be fun to reunite with the Norwegian striker.

Szoboszlai said: “We got really close because we were both young, we had to learn so much, and we had to grow up because we were boys.

“If we were to play together now, it would be another situation. It would be quite good.”

Haaland and Szoboszlai were rather special during their brief time together at Salzburg, and the pair reuniting as they are now could be something insane.

The Hungarian international has taken the Premier League by storm at Liverpool, and in some alternate reality where Haaland is also at Anfield, there’s no telling how good the duo would be together.

Indeed, such a thought belongs in FIFA or Football Manager, yet there is every chance in the future that Szoboszlai and Haaland could reunite one day at their former club Salzburg.
