Eberechi Eze shares who he thinks is the higher rated dribbler – Mo Salah or Bernardo Silva

Crystal Palace player Eberechi Eze has given his thoughts on Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah’s dribbling ability.

Salah is widely seen as one of the best dribblers in the Premier League, if not the world. Nevertheless, the 31-year-old is perhaps still ever so slightly underrated in this respect.

This is outlined in Eze’s answers when playing a game of ‘Higher or Lower’ with Sky Sports Premier League today.

Asked whether he thinks Salah is rated higher or lower than Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva on the new EAFC game, Eze had to think about it.

“I’m going to say lower,” the 25-year-old decided. As it turns out, Liverpool’s No.11 is rated 88 for dribbling, with Silva ahead on 92.

“Good, still very good and he is good at dribbling, so it’s fair,” Eze says of Salah.

Silva scores higher than Salah

The wider footballing community might see things differently, but we don’t really agree with this.

Call us biased, but we can’t see how Silva is actually better than Salah at anything.

The Portugal international has won the lot many times over since joining City for £43m in 2017. But he’s a functioning part of a brilliant system rather than a special player all by himself.

Again, some will disagree and this perhaps doesn’t demonstrate his dribbling abilities, but seeing as Salah and Silva joined their respective teams at the same time, it’s interesting to compare them.

In the six-and-a-bit years since then Mo has scored 196 times and provided 76 assists for Liverpool.

Silva by contrast has scored 56 and assisted 50.

The counterpoint to that is that the Portuguese has helped his team to plenty more titles during his time in England. But in terms of individual input, Salah outstrips him by miles.

Again, that doesn’t really demonstrate their specific dribbling ability. But we’d say that if you put Mo up against Bernardo in any segment of the game, the Egyptian will come out on top. And it isn’t even close.
