Liverpool have been backed to make it three Premier League wins in a row this Sunday.

After two games without a win, the Reds have now picked up back-to-back victories, beating Everton and then Nottingham Forest.

With a visit to Luton Town in store this weekend, Liverpool will be heavy favourites to make it a hat-trick. And speaking on his Seaman Says podcast, former England goalkeeper David Seaman says they’ll comfortably do so.

“I’m going to say 3-0 Liverpool,” the 60-year-old predicted when asked to name the score. We’ll take that!

Liverpool looking for Luton win

It’s been quite some time since Liverpool headed over to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton.

Plenty of Reds fans will remember that Liverpool were actually drawn against the Hatters twice in three seasons in the FA Cup back in the mid-2000s.

The first was with the Reds on their way to winning the trophy in 2006. A superb game at Kenilworth Road ended 5-3 to Liverpool, with Xabi Alonso’s strike from his own half the most memorable moment of a terrific cup tie.

Then, in 2008 Rafa Benitez’s side were back and only able to muster a 1-1 draw on the road. The Reds then ploughed their way to a 5-0 win in the replay at Anfield.

Almost 16 years on, and that remains the last time the two teams played each other – until Sunday.

With Luton having won just one of their 10 Premier League matches so far, it seems almost inevitable that Liverpool will take the points.

But we’ve seen Liverpool struggle away from home against the bottom sides in the league over the past year.

The Hatters will almost certainly be drawing inspiration from the Reds’ losses on the road to Bournemouth and Forest last season.

Liverpool of 2023/24 seem to be a different beast to the team of 2022/23, though. All things considered, it should be a difficult day at the office for Luton.

Still, nothing is a given in the Premier League. We’d take a breezy 3-0 any day of the week, but you never know.
