Dominik Szoboszlai was spotted having some fun with the Liverpool crowd this weekend.

The Hungarian was once against in excellent form against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Bagging assists for two of Liverpool’s three goals, Szoboszlai was a strong contender for Man of the Match.

One of those assists came for the in-form Darwin Nunez, who couldn’t miss following his teammate’s ball across the face of goal.

It was a great moment for Nunez, who is always a popular goal-scorer. And as the familiar chant of “Nunez, Nunez, Nunez,” rang out around Anfield, Liverpool’s official Twitter account spotted Szoboszlai getting involved in the festivities.

In a video posted yesterday, the camera follows Szobo after setting up Darwin’s strike.

Looking to the Kop as he jogs to celebrate with the Uruguayan, Szoboszlai is seen mouthing the words to the Nunez chant and pumping his first at supporters. You love to see it.

With his all-action performances and outgoing personality, Szoboszlai has become an instant hit with the Liverpool fans.

This kind of thing will only underline that further. After such a dismal season last time out, it’s nice to see that connection between supporters and players back again.

Of course, that feeling doesn’t come from nowhere though, and players like Szoboszlai and Nunez should really be commended for fostering that.

Both have made sure that the heavy loss of so many fan favourites over recent years has been softened.

In different ways, the pair are the faces of Jurgen Klopp’s so-called ‘Liverpool 2.0.’

Nunez is the wild card, the man who could conceivably take the Reds from title contenders to title winners. As the constant airing of his name from the Anfield crowd suggests, he’s truly loved on Merseyside.

Meanwhile Szoboszlai is the player who is coming to define Klopp’s midfield overhaul at the club. His ability to put the team on his back suggests the Hungarian has years of success ahead of him with the Reds.

For now, neither have achieved anything in terms of trophies won. But from the sheer weight of their personalities on and off the pitch, Nunez and Szoboszlai are already heroes at Anfield. And don’t they just know it.
