Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has praised Darwin Nunez’s improvement this season, with the Liverpool star enjoying his best football yet in the Premier League.
Speaking to ESPN, the Uruguay international lauded his national team teammate on how much the forward has improved in the last few months at Liverpool.
Nunez is currently enjoying his best run of form yet since joining the Reds last year, with the 24-year-old being trusted by Jurgen Klopp to lead the attacking three.
Indeed, the striker has been fantastic for Liverpool this season, and Bentancur has now admitted that he can see the improvements Nunez has made in the last few months.
Bentancur said: “It seems that Darwin has matured a lot, Playing as a no. 9. I think he also deserves it a little for all the work he has done.
“The only thing he has to do is enjoy himself and try to have fun. It is the most beautiful thing to be in a club like Liverpool and defend the National Team, which is the ultimate dream that a player has.”
