Wataru Endo is reportedly set to start for Liverpool tomorrow night against AFC Bournemouth in the League Cup.

According to Liverpool World, the 30-year-old midfielder will return to the Reds starting XI, with Endo coming off the bench on the weekend against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

A £16m signing this summer, Endo has had a slow start to life at Anfield having been a surprise addition to the squad after the departure of Fabinho.

Yet the Japanese international has established himself as a popular figure at the club, with Dominik Szoboszlai recently lauding Endo for his passing ability.

Indeed, Endo is growing into Jurgen Klopp’s system with each passing game, and a start against Premier League opposition this week in Bournemouth will be a boost for the Liverpool midfielder.

Indeed, a run in the League Cup could be something the Reds are keeping in mind heading into November, and Endo will want to impress for Liverpool down on the south coast tomorrow night.

Endo has all the qualities needed to be a success at Liverpool, yet the former VfB Stuttgart star clearly needs more time, though games like tomorrow are the perfect setting.

An away day against a Premier League side can be a catalyst to get a career back on track, and whilst Endo’s situation isn’t as dramatic as that, the midfielder will want to impress against the Cherries.

Progression in the League Cup will also mean more starts for Endo later this season, and the midfielder will want to do all he can to showcase his stuff for Liverpool down on the south coast.
