Ibrahima Konate’s fashion sense left his Liverpool teammates speechless last night.
As we’ve seen during his time at the club so far, Konate takes great pride in what’s in his closet. The Frenchman certainly likes to look the part off the pitch.
The latest example of this came last night, with Konate posting a snap from a fashion shoot on his Instagram page.
It’s certainly an eye-catching outfit from the 24-year-old. Posing in what looks like it could be a stately home, Ibou shows off an ecru and red polo shirt, with matching shorts. Coupled with long white socks, smart black shoes, red-tinted glasses and red leather gloves, it’s certainly bold.
From their comments, Curtis Jones and Kostas Tsimikas seem to think so too.
“Oh my,” wrote Jones, tagging in Tsimikas. “He different level this man [sic].” “Different planet,” agreed the Greek.
Konate shows off his wardrobe
It’s likely that Konate’s outfit last night was part of an advertising campaign from some high-end fashion line.
If Liverpool weren’t doing quite as well as they are on the pitch, then this could be attached with some criticism from supporters.
But it’s long been time to accept that players these days are not just footballers, they’re whole brands.
In a sense, it’s perhaps good news for Liverpool that Konate is being picked up by these sponsors. The higher profile players the Reds have, the more benefits that can come from that commercially for the club.

Football has changed, and clubs do at times now factor in these kinds of things when signing a new player.
For us, we’re happy just seeing Ibou and his teammates every week in Liverpool red. But it’s also nice to see that players have personalities and interests away from the pitch.
Jones is another one who can often be seen flaunting his own fashion sense. The 22-year-old’s own latest post on Instagram is a series of shots of him dressed head to toe in Chanel on a trip to Paris.
No doubt he got a fair bit of stick for that in training, as Konate rightly will when he rocks up at the AXA today!
