Jamal Musiala last night finished above Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard in Ballon d’Or voting, with the midfielder linked with a move to Liverpool.
As per Fabrizio Romano, the Bayern Munich superstar came 26th overall as Lionel Messi scooped up a record-breaking eighth Ballon d’Or award, with Mohamed Salah coming 11th.
Musiala has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, with the £89m-rated superstar potentially thinking about leaving Bayern in 2024.
And such a high ranking in Ballon d’Or voting will be an encouragement for Liverpool, who could make Musiala their next superstar signing in the next 12 months.
Indeed, whilst many would argue how Musiala finished above Odegaard given the season the Arsenal star enjoyed last term, there’s no denying how good the German could be for a club like Liverpool.
Liverpool have to sign Musiala next year

Musiala is clearly one of the best footballing prospects in the world at this moment in time, and Jurgen Klopp needs to do all he can to try and bring the youngster to Anfield.
With Musiala yet to even reach the top of his game, it’s scary to think what sort of player the German international could become if he was to join a club like Liverpool in the next 12 months.
And the Reds have to ensure that they do just that, even if Bayern are unwilling to sell and the price tag could shatter anything Liverpool have paid previously for any player in their history.
