ESPN pundit thinks Jurgen Klopp doesn’t trust Liverpool player right now

Steve Nicol has claimed that Jurgen Klopp isn’t fully sold on starting Wataru Endo yet for Liverpool in key matches.

Speaking on ESPN, the pundit suggested that the £16m summer signing is yet to gain the Anfield manager’s full trust having endured a slow start to life on Merseyside.

Endo was the surprise addition of the window this off-season as Liverpool moved for the 30-year-old VfB Stuttgart captain to replace Fabinho.

And it’s been a struggle for Endo, with the Liverpool midfielder yet to get to grips fully with his new club, with Nicol now thinking that Klopp doesn’t trust the Japanese international.

The pundit said: “The thing is he can afford to have Mac Allister a little deeper because they are pretty good still at going forward.

“But I don’t think he trusts Endo, I think that’s probably a better word. He doesn’t trust him yet to start him and have the other two further up.”

Endo needs more time to settle at Liverpool

Making the move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League will always be a difficult transition for most players, and Endo is proving just that with Liverpool.

The 30-year-old is yet to fully grasp the speed of the division having spent the past few years with Stuttgart, though there are some promising signs from Endo’s recent performances.

It will take time, but Endo succeeding at Liverpool is on the table, with the Japanese international just needing that extra push to become fully adapted to English football.
