Alisson Becker has named his favourite ever moment in the Premier League for Liverpool.
Since arriving at Anfield for £67m in 2018, Alisson has grown into arguably the best goalkeeper on the planet.
He’s had numerous incredible saves and even scored a memorable goal back in 2021. Now, sitting down with premierleague.com, Alisson has shared his ‘ultimate’ Premier League moment.
First of all, the Brazilian is asked to pick between his point-blank save against Newcastle’s Miguel Almiron earlier this season, or a remarkable triple stop while playing Norwich in 2022. Unsurprisingly, Ali opted for the Newcastle one.
“It was a really difficult save but a nice save to look at as well,” explained the Brazilian. “It always feels good and it helped the team on the day to get three points.
“I have a feeling this one will be special for us,” Alisson added, in an exciting little nod to what may come this season.
Other moments are then pitted against each other, before the Reds ‘keeper is asked to choose his favourite. It’s a tough one, between the headed winner against West Brom and the Almiron save. And although Ali admits his choice may ‘disappoint’ fans, it doesn’t take him long to decide.
“I’m a goalkeeper man, I have to go with the save,” says the 31-year-old. “I’m sorry, I think people will be disappointed with me for not putting the goal, but… yeah. In a few years I think we’ll have to do another one, more saves for sure!”
Alisson picks his favourite moment
In all honesty, we’re a little surprised at this pick from Alisson. In our minds, nothing is ever going to top his last-second goal at West Brom.
Not only was it a superb header, but it was absolutely crucial in ensuring Liverpool qualified for the Champions League against all odds.

Had the Reds gone on to win the following year’s tournament instead of finishing as runners-up, we think it might have been Ali’s pick, too.
But, as he says, he’s a goalkeeper and so it’s perhaps only right that he’s opted for a save. And what a save it was, too.
It isn’t often that we see Alisson fly so spectacularly through the air. The Brazil international tends to prefer his saves to be low-key and efficient. But there was no other way to keep Almiron’s shot out.
Hopefully Alisson’s prediction that it will end up being a special and meaningful save for Liverpool ends up coming true. If it does, it will take on even greater importance.
