Tottenham have reportedly joined the race to sign Federico Chiesa, with Liverpool also rumoured to be interested in signing the Juventus winger.

According to CalcioMercato, the north London side are keeping tabs on the Italian international, with Chiesa’s future with the Serie A side still under intense scrutiny.

The former ACF Fiorentina star was strongly linked with a move away from Juventus this summer, with Liverpool the main side interested in signing Chiesa.

However, heading into the January window, Tottenham have now emerged as a contender for Chiesa, with Ange Postecoglou guiding Spurs to the top of the Premier League standings.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, though, Tottenham could struggle to land Chiesa, with Jurgen Klopp believed to be a massive fan of the Juventus winger.

Hailed by 90min as a ‘world-class’ player, Chiesa is perfect for Liverpool as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, and this factor could help the Reds beat Tottenham to the winger’s signature.

Liverpool have to beat Tottenham to Chiesa in 2024

Options are few and far between for Liverpool in terms of a suitable Salah replacement, yet Chiesa could be an ideal signing for the Reds.

As a result, the Anfield giants must do all they can to beat Tottenham to Chiesa’s signature, with Liverpool likely to have funds to spend big on a winger in 2024.

With Juventus teasing that they will sell Chiesa next year, everything makes too much sense for Liverpool to move for the winger, even with Tottenham now in the race.
