Pep Guardiola reportedly wants Manchester City to beat Liverpool to the signing of Bayern Munich superstar Jamal Musiala.

According to Bild, the Catalan coach is eager to bring the Germany international to Manchester, with Musiala now a target for City as well as Liverpool.

With Real Madrid also in the mix for Musiala, competition is heating up for the youngster’s signature, even if Bayern have no plans to sell the former England youth star.

Praised by Jurgen Klinsmann as a ‘phenomenal’ player, Musiala is easily one of the best youngsters in Europe and a prospect every top club would love to have on their books.

And City and Liverpool are seemingly no exception, with the Premier League giants now keen on signing Musiala, with Guardiola issuing an order for his club to bring the 20-year-old to Manchester.

However, Bayern’s eagerness to keep hold of Musiala could be a massive roadblock, and Liverpool should go about their business for the German star in a different manner.

Musiala has all the hallmarks of becoming a world-class player in the next year or two, and Liverpool could quietly beat a club like City to the youngster’s signature.

The Reds are no strangers to putting in work to sign the right player, and Musiala could be just that for Liverpool if they can get their work done correctly.

Indeed, the upcoming battle will be long and gruelling, but Liverpool can end out as victors if they play their cards right.
