‘It’s been tough’: 22-year-old Liverpool player admits he’s found the last few weeks difficult

Curtis Jones has admitted that he has struggled in recent weeks after missing Liverpool’s lastest Premier League games through suspension.

Speaking to the press ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Europa League clash with Toulouse, the 22-year-old revealed that he has found the last few weeks to be quite tough.

Jones received a straight red card in Liverpool’s controversial 2-1 loss to Tottenham in September, with the youngster not starting a game in any competition since the dismissal.

With the England youth international set to start tomorrow night, Jones’ redemption tour can being with a bang at Anfield under the lights on a European evening.

Indeed, Jones has been missed in the Liverpool squad. And the midfielder has felt the strain, with the youngster saying: “It’s been tough.

“I was playing games, I was doing well, and a small mistake like that has stopped the run of games. But that’s in the past now, I’ve moved on, and I’ve got a chance now to play games again.”

Jones will be the first to admit that his tackle at Tottenham last month was reckless, yet the midfielder is also aware that he has what it takes to redeem himself.
