Kalvin Phillips’ management are reportedly sounding out potential suitors, with Liverpool linked with a move for the Manchester City midfielder.
According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the 27-year-old’s team are now looking into the market for a potential transfer, with Phillips expected to leave City in January.
Liverpool are one of many sides who have been linked with a move for the England international, with Jurgen Klopp keen to sign a defensive midfielder in the winter window.
And Phillips could now be the player who the Reds settle on recruiting, with the midfielder eager to leave Manchester to put his career back on track.
Indeed, a move in January seems almost certain at this point, and Liverpool could begin work on their end to bring the £45m City flop to Anfield in the new year.
Liverpool will hope they can get a good deal for Phillips

Phillips’ time at City could not have gone any worse, yet there’s still time for the midfielder to not only revive his career, but thrive at a new club.
And Liverpool could be just that for the former Leeds United superstar, with Klopp eager to bring in a new midfielder who could help with his worrying squad depth.
Options are limited heading into January, but Phillips’ CV and previous record in the Premier League should be enough to convince Liverpool to make a move for the England international.
