Torino have confirmed that rumoured Liverpool target Perr Schuurs will miss the rest of the season due to an ACL injury.
The Serie A side announced on their official website that the Dutch defender will be out for at least six months after suffering an injury in this weekend’s top-flight Italian clash against Inter Milan.
Lauded as an ‘immense’ player, Schuurs was strongly linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, though a move never materialised as the Reds focused on midfield signings instead.

With Liverpool expected to target a defender in the January transfer window, Schuurs would have been an exceptional signing for the Anfield giants in 2024.
However, Schuurs’ season-ending injury will put a halt on any plans Liverpool might have had in attempting to sign the former Ajax wonderkid in January.
Indeed, the defender would have suited Liverpool’s style of a play to a tee, yet Liverpool will now have to move on to other targets as their search for defensive depth continues.
Schuurs’ injury is the last thing Liverpool needed to hear

An ACL injury is arguably the worst thing that could happen to a football player, and Schuurs can now expect a long and gruelling road back to full fitness.
The defender was at the top of his game and likely dreaming of a move to the Premier League, where Liverpool could have been a realistic destination for Schuurs.
However, it’s now back to square one for the Dutchman, and many fans and experts will hope to see Schuurs back to his best in time for the 2024/25 season.
