The teenager has exploded onto the scene in the 2. Bundesliga with Schalke, and Bayern are now seemingly intent on beating the likes of Liverpool to Ouedraogo’s signature.

The Reds have been linked with the youngster in recent weeks, though it is Bayern who are looking to wrap up a deal early for Ouedraogo, which could as much as €12m (£10m).

Indeed, Bayern’s grip on the talent pool in Germany is an open secret, and the Bavarian giants could now be close to beating Liverpool to Ouedraogo.

Ouedraogo has firmly established himself this season as one of Germany’s most exciting talents, with every big club in Europe seemingly interested in signing the midfielder.

And Liverpool can’t allow Bayern to win the race for Ouedraogo, with the 17-year-old midfielder a prospect who could flourish under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Yet with a meeting now scheduled between Bayern and Ouedraogo, all Liverpool can do now is sit from the sidelines and pray for a miracle.
