Dundee FC boss Tony Docherty has hinted that he wants to keep Liverpool loanee Owen Beck despite a developing injury crisis.
Speaking to the Courier, the Scottish Premiership manager detailed that he is keen for the Welsh international to stay on at Dens Park even though a recall for Beck could be on the cards.
Liverpool are enduring a defensive injury crisis with Andy Robertson out for three months, with Kostas Tsimikas being substituted off in this weekend’s derby against Everton.

With Beck thriving out on loan, there have been whispers that the 21-year-old could return to Anfield to cover for Robertson. Yet Docherty is eager for the defender to remain at Dundee.
The SPL manager said: “Owen is doing exceptionally well and with international recognition as well, it wouldn’t be a surprise if people are talking about him. But he’s such a grounded boy and is very popular here.
“I think he enjoys playing here – the football side of it and the camaraderie in the dressing-room as well. We’ll just keep his feet on the ground and he’ll, hopefully, keep performing the way he’s performing. That level of consistency will attract attention.”
Liverpool need to keep Beck out on loan

A regular in the Scottish Premiership and a full international with Wales, things are going rather well for Beck in his young footballing career.
And whilst being recalled by Liverpool to come save the day might be enticing, we all know that the defender will only be subjected to appearances off the bench, if even that.
As a result, Liverpool need to ensure that Beck stays out on loan at Dundee, with the defender gaining valuable experience that will go far in his development as a top player in the modern game.
