Chelsea are reportedly hoping to sign Victor Osimhen despite the Napoli forward being strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are keeping tabs on the £150m-rated Nigerian international, who is expected to leave the Serie A giants next summer.
Speculation around Osimhen’s future has been rife in recent days amid bombshell revelations from Italy that Liverpool had agreed personal terms to sign Osimhen in 2024.

However, it now appears that this claim is wide of the mark, with the Merseyside side merely monitoring the attacker as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Yet according to Romano, Chelsea could now have plans to sign the striker, with the journalist saying: “I can say that Chelsea are still keeping an eye on Osimhen.
“But despite some media reports in Italy stating that he’s agreed a contract with Liverpool, my understanding is that he hasn’t agreed anything with any club.”
Chelsea can easily beat Liverpool to Osimhen

Finances will be the sole factor in any deal to sign Osimhen next year, and for Liverpool, Chelsea’s money muscle could be reason they’re favourites to land the striker.
Whilst the Blues are unlikely to finish in a UEFA Champions League spot this season, money talks in football, with Todd Boehly taking this statement to the biggest of extremes.
As a result, Liverpool could really struggle to sign Osimhen, though such a blow might end up being a blessing in disguise for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
