Goncalo Inacio’s agent is reportedly against the defender moving in January despite rumours that Liverpool are interested.
According to the Mirror, the centre-back’s representative, as well as Sporting Lisbon, are eager to keep Inacio in Portugal until the summer amid growing interest from the Premier League and Liverpool.
The Reds, alongside Manchester United, have been strongly linked with a move for Inacio, with Liverpool ready to spend big on a defender in the January transfer window.

Recently described as ‘amazing’ by Fabrizio Romano, Inacio is one of the highest-rated young defenders currently playing on a regular basis for one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Yet this latest update could throw a massive spanner in the works for Liverpool, who now struggle to sign Inacio in the January market.
Indeed, a centre-back is a must for Liverpool this winter, and Inacio would have been a dream signing for Jurgen Klopp, though this transfer now looks like it’s off the table for the time being.
Liverpool should still consider January swoop for Inacio

Clubs and agents ruling a player being sold is hardly anything new in football, yet as we have seen in recent windows, there’s always some workaround in any transfer.
And Inacio should be no different, with Liverpool having the funds to tempt Sporting into selling their star defender before the summer window opens.
The defender himself could also be keen on a move if Liverpool show that they want Inacio at Anfield, a place where the youngster could become an icon if he plays his cards right.
