Liverpool are reportedly scouting ACF Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez, amid rumours that Victor Osimhen is also a target for the Reds.

According to CalcioMercato, the Anfield side, alongside Chelsea, are regularly watching the Argentine international, who this season has been one of the best attackers in Serie A.

The 25-year-old has already bagged an impressive seven goals and two assists in all competitions this campaign, and Gonzalez’s form has now caught the eye of Liverpool.

A record breaker with Fiorentina having gone 28 games unbeaten with the Viola, Gonzalez could now be the latest name on the board that could replace Mohamed Salah at Anfield.

Naturally a right-winger, Gonzalez’s form and abilities do make the Argentine a suitable successor to the Egyptian international, with Fiorentina demanding as much as €60m (£52m) for their prized attacker.

Indeed, with Osimhen a centre-forward and likely to cost nearly triple what Gonzalez is on the market for, signing the winger makes a lot more sense than the Napoli forward, especially if Liverpool are replacing Salah.

With an asking price of £150m, a move for Osimhen would break the bank for Liverpool as well as potentially unbalance the Reds’ forward ranks.

Yet in Gonzalez, Jurgen Klopp would not have to worry about these two logistical problems, with the winger an ideal replacement for a player like Salah in the squad.

The Argentine is improving with every year, and at Liverpool, Gonzalez could hit new heights and thrive in the Premier League, especially under a manager like Klopp.
