Janusz Michallik has said Virgil van Dijk is now back to his best after the Liverpool defender’s performance against Everton.
Speaking on ESPN, the pundit suggested that the 32-year-old is returning to the sort of form that made Van Dijk one of the best players on the entire planet.
The Dutch international has had a mixed start to the season for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but Saturday’s display at Anfield was arguably Van Dijk’s best of the campaign so far.

The defender kept a vital clean sheet as Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners against Everton in the first Merseyside Derby of the season.
And for Michallik, the former Southampton star is back to his best, with Van Dijk showing signs that he’s on top of his game after some months of in-and-out form.
Michallik said: “I’m starting to see Van Dijk at, I dare say, his absolute best. He’s slowly but surely getting there and that’s important. I wasn’t sure if he was going to get back to the van Dijk before his injury.”
Van Dijk has returned to form for Liverpool at the right time

After being sent off early on this season against Newcastle United, many feared the worst for Van Dijk this campaign as captain of Liverpool.
However, the defender has responded well since that fixture, and the centre-back’s performance against Everton this weekend was nothing short of sensational.
Van Dijk is slowly returning to the form that made the Dutchman the best defender in the world by some distance, and Liverpool will be keen for the 32-year-old to keep this level of performance up.
