Andy Robertson has been photographed wearing a protective arm cast, fuelling fears that the Liverpool defender could be out through injury for some time.

As per LFC Transfer Room, the Scottish defender has been seen with a cast and a sling after picking up a shoulder injury for the Tartan Army in this month’s international break.

With the Merseyside Derby this weekend, there’s a strong chance that Robertson will miss the clash against Everton, with injuries at Liverpool starting to pile up.

Lauded as ‘world-class’ by Stan Collymore, Robertson is one of Liverpool’s most important players and a defender that many fans will not want to see out on the treatment table.

Moreover, given the nature of the injury, it’s hard to determine how long Robertson will actually be out for, with early reports suggesting that the left-back could be out for four months.

Whilst Kostas Tsimikas is an excellent backup for Robertson, there’s no denying that Liverpool want the Scottish captain fully fit and available for the coming weeks.

The Reds are reaching a crucial part of the season where key games against Everton and Manchester City are all on the horizon.

And having Robertson out through injury will feel like a killer blow, with the defender one of the most consistent performers in the Liverpool squad and a key player in Jurgen Klopp’s system.
