Peter Crouch has predicted Liverpool to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season, alongside Arsenal.

Speaking to TNT Sport, the pundit claimed that the Reds could have what it takes to push Pep Guardiola’s side in the race for the biggest prize in English football.

Liverpool have started the new season strongly with the Anfield side currently sat in the top-four and only three points off league leaders Tottenham.

Having lost just once in their opening eight games, things have been going well for Liverpool this season, and Crouch now thinks the Reds could be in with a shot of challenging for the title.

The former Anfield superstar said on Liverpool’s league chances: “I think they are definitely in with a shout. I think it’s them and Arsenal chasing City.

“If you had to hang your hat on it or, you had to have a bet on it for your life, then you’d say City win the league. But I think Liverpool can be the best of the rest and push them all the way.”

Liverpool are starting to look a lot more like themselves this season after a year to forget last term where the Reds finished fifth.

Summer signings have settled in nicely at Anfield, and come the final weeks of the season, Liverpool could be chasing the likes of Arsenal and City for the title.

Indeed, it will take quite some luck with injuries and form, but Liverpool are no strangers to taking the title to the final day of the season, and this year could be no different.
