Moussa Diaby names 24-year-old Liverpool player alongside Neymar as his dream footballer

Moussa Diaby has named Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate as part of his ultimate footballer, alongside the likes of Neymar.

Speaking to Aston Villa’s official Instagram account, the French international nominated Konate as the player he would like to have as his strength, with Edinson Cavani also named by Diaby.

Both Paris-born, the pair are part of a new generation of French players, with Diaby this summer making a £34m move from Bayer Leverkusen to Unai Emery’s Villa.

And the 24-year-old winger has been a sensation, with Diaby scoring two goals and registering three assists in eight Premier League games for the Villa Park side.

Indeed, Diaby was silent against Liverpool earlier this season at Anfield, and the winger’s admiration for Konate is a good sign of how much the 24-year-old Reds defender is admired by his international teammates.

Diaby will hope to get the better of Liverpool and Konate at Villa Park

Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Villa earlier this season was arguably the Reds’ most complete performance of the campaign so far, and Diaby will be looking for revenge when the teams meet at Villa Park.

With the reverse fixture taking place in May, a lot could be on the line by the time two sides face off against each other in the Premier League, with Liverpool aiming for the Premier League title.

Indeed, Diaby will have more time to get adjusted to English football, yet if early signs are anything to go off by, then the Villa winger could be one of the best wingers in the Premier League when May rolls around.
