Jermaine Pennant has lauded new Liverpool signing Dominik Szoboszlai, who this season has been a sensation for the Reds.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the former Anfield star praised the Hungarian international after his impressive start to life in the Premier League.

Szoboszlai was signed from RB Leipzig and has been one of the revelations of the season for Liverpool, with Pennant impressed with what he has seen from the 22-year-old.

Pennant said: “You know, Salah has been there every season, that’s the norm, but Szoboszlai he’s come in and he has the number 8 jersey which brings a lot of pressure and he has taken to that.

“He’s stood up and you see glimpses of a little Stevie G in there, his goals, his strikes, his passing range. The engine on him, he doesn’t stop running, which is magnificent.

“He’s only just joined the club so once he settles more and more I can only see him getting better and better, so I think he’s been a fantastic addition to the squad.”

Szoboszlai’s quality was clear to see before the midfielder joined Liverpool, yet the youngster has been nothing short of a game-changer for the Reds.

The former Bundesliga star has transformed Liverpool’s midfield into one of the best in all of the Premier League alongside Alexis Mac Allister.

And for many, Szoboszlai is only getting started, with the Hungarian only getting better with each passing game for the Reds.
