Arsenal and Man City well placed to beat Liverpool to £150m player

Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly better suited to sign Victor Osimhen over Liverpool due to the Reds’ lack of financial muscle.

According to journalist Salvatore Biazzo, the Anfield side’s finances compared to the Gunners and Pep Guardiola’s team make Liverpool an unlikely winner in the race for Osimhen.

The Nigerian international has been valued as highly as £150m in recent months, and with Liverpool not desperate for a new striker, it makes sense why the Reds might already be out for Osimhen.

Indeed, with Liverpool in need of added depth in midfield and defence, signing Osimhen could be a hopeless pursuit, and rival clubs could beat them to the punch in the meantime.

Biazzo said about Liverpool potentially signing Osimhen: “Liverpool? In the Premier League, there is a merciless fight between different teams with Arsenal, City and Tottenham.

“Liverpool are a historic team and could want a striker like Osimhen, but I see the financial exposure of English clubs and Liverpool are placed high in the ranking of those who have debts.”

Liverpool should give up Osimhen race already

Osimhen is easily one of the best strikers in the world and a player who looks primed to join the Premier League next year having dominated Italy with Napoli.

Yet for Liverpool, they could be saving a lot of time and stress for fans and pundits if they pull out of the race for the Nigerian international soon.

As we know, Liverpool can’t afford Napoli’s asking price for Osimhen, and with the Reds stacked in the attack, signing the forward would make little sense going into 2024.
