Joao Palhinha is reportedly hopeful of leaving Fulham in January for Bayern Munich, with the midfielder strongly linked with Liverpool over the summer.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Portuguese international is keen to join the Bundesliga giants in 2024 after coming close to a move in August.

Hailed by Danny Murphy as an ‘absolutely phenomenal’ player, Palhinha was also linked with Liverpool in the summer as the Reds weighed up a move for the Fulham star.

However, Bayern were the closest to signing the midfield sensation, with Palhinha even flying to Bavaria to have a medical with the German giants.

Yet as we know, a deal collapsed, with Bayern now expected to make a renewed attempt for Palhinha in January, much to Liverpool’s dismay.

Palhinha has been linked with Liverpool for what feels like the minute the midfielder established himself as one of the best in the Premier League with Fulham.

Yet as things stand, it looks like Bayern are the side who will end up signing Palhinha in 2024, with the Bavarian giants the club who seem to have to strongest interest in the Portuguese international.

For Liverpool, Palhinha could have been a dream Fabinho replacement, but with Bayern storming ahead and the player himself keen to move to Germany, there’s little the Reds can do to stop the inevitable.
