Bayern Munich have reportedly made contact with Manchester City to sign Kalvin Phillips, who is believed to be a target for Liverpool.
90min claim that Thomas Tuchel’s side have made an approach for the England international, who since joining City last year in a £45m deal has made just two Premier League starts for Pep Guardiola.
Phillips‘ time with the Manchester side has been nothing short of a disaster, and the midfielder is now expected to move on from the reigning English champions, with Liverpool interested.

However, Bayern could now pip the Reds to the former Leeds United star’s signature, with the German giants pushing hard to sign Phillips ahead of the January window.
Indeed, with Euro 2024 on the horizon, the City midfielder will want to be playing regular football next year if he’s to stand any chance of making Gareth Southgate’s squad.
And for Liverpool, they can provide the 27-year-old with just that, though Bayern’s interest could be a massive issue for the Anfield giants heading into 2024.
Liverpool have to beat Bayern to Phillips in January

Phillips’ career is at a crossroads, with the midfielder not getting a look in at City and clearly too good to be sat on Guardiola’s bench for the remainder of the season.
And for Liverpool, news that Bayern are in talks for the England international should be enough to motivate the Merseyside giants to move for Phillips.
As we know, the Reds can do with another defensive-minded midfielder in their ranks, and Phillips is a perfect candidate to fill this role for Jurgen Klopp.
