Ben Doak has admitted that he was starstruck to train with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson after joining Liverpool.

Speaking to Football Scotland, the 17-year-old wonderkid revealed that he was in awe of the Liverpool dup after Doak moved to Anfield from Celtic in 2022.

Doak has this season become a regular for Liverpool in both the UEFA Europa League and the League Cup, with big things expected from the attacker in the years to come.

Yet the winger had to start somewhere on Merseyside, and Doak has said that meeting Salah and Robertson left him speechless at Kirkby.

The winger said: “My first few months when I was in and around it a lot, it was a bit: ‘Oh my god, that’s Mo Salah, that’s Andy Robertson’.

“I was starstruck, but I settled in really quickly. They’re all really good, just normal lads who are dead good with me, always taking me aside to tell me what I should be doing.”

It’s still crazy to think that Doak is just 17-years-old, with the winger a player who has felt he has been around for some years now.

Yet the forward is very much at the start of his career, and for Doak, learning from the likes of Salah and Robertson will be key in aiding his development.

Taking on lessons and tips from world-class players is essential for any youngster to hit their potential, and Doak can become a terror if he takes on the right advice from Salah and Robertson.
