Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo were impressed with Harvey Elliott’s display for England U21s last night.
Elliott was in magnificent form for the Young Lions, bagging two goals and providing an assist in a huge 9-1 win over Serbia.
Taking to Instagram after the game, Harvey simply posted a tongue-out emoji, alongside some snaps of him enjoying the match.
Both Gravenberch and Gakpo were spotted in the comments, with the Dutch pair clearly liking what they saw from their younger teammate.
Gakpo was first up, posting a flame emoji and a love heart in a word-less response. Gravenberch followed shortly after, a simple flame emoji enough to show his appreciation for Elliott’s red-hot display.
Elliott on fire for England
What a night for Harvey. Having taken some time to find his feet with the U21s, the Liverpool youngster is now an established member of the side.
As seen from his Instagram post, the Reds No.19 was also given the captain’s armband at some point during the game.
That will have been a proud moment for Elliott, who deserves recognition for his excellent attitude and maturity.

In this kind of form, it may not be long before senior manager Gareth Southgate grants him his first ever call-up.
Having been around the Liverpool first-team for a fair few years now, it feels like the right moment for Elliott. However, with Southgate famously having his favourites in midfield, Harvey might still have to wait until the 53-year-old has left his post.
In the meantime, he’ll keep turning out and enjoying his football for the U21s. With Curtis Jones now too old to play for the underage side, Elliott is Liverpool’s sole representative in Lee Carsley’s side.
Thankfully, as Gravenberch and Gakpo have acknowledged, he’s doing us proud.
