Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is furious with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Pochettino has started to turn things around at Stamford Bridge after a terrible start to the season. Meanwhile, Gerrard is plodding along quite well with Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq.
Normally, there’d be no reason for the two managers of such clubs to even interact with each other. But owing to the influx of cash in the Saudi league, their clubs are now taking an interest in Premier League players. According to Football Transfers though, Gerrard has picked the wrong target this time.

They claim that Stevie has been eyeing a move for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Supposedly ‘keen’ to bring in another British player, Gerrard is said to have contacted the 23-year-old personally about a potential move to Dammam.
Although Gallagher reportedly ‘flatly rejected’ the Liverpool icon’s approach, Pochettino is claimed to be ‘not happy’ with Gerrard’s tactics.
With the January window some way away, the Chelsea boss is supposedly furious that Al Ettifaq are trying to ‘turn his head’ at this stage of the season.
Gerrard upsets Pochettino
It seems quite bizarre that Gerrard would feel he could lure Gallagher away from Chelsea at the moment.
He may have had a tough debut season in the first-team at Stamford Bridge last year, but the former Crystal Palace loanee looks revitalised.
Having captained the club several times already this campaign, Gallagher seems set to be a key player for Pochettino.

On top of that, he’s regularly getting in the England squad. At just 23, there’s surely a very, very slim chance of success for Gerrard here.
Nevertheless, with the Saudis throwing money all over the place, you can never rule it out.
As well as Gerrard potentially trying to use his status to lure Gallagher away, Al Ettifaq will no doubt employ Jordan Henderson here, too.
The former Liverpool skipper is now the captain of the Pro League side and – bafflingly – is still getting in Gareth Southgate’s England squad as well. Just as he tried to do with Jude Bellingham for Liverpool, don’t be surprised to see Henderson cosying up to Gallagher on national team duty now. Poch won’t be pleased!
