Ibrahima Konate has been asked whether he’s had any approaches from French champions PSG.
Hailing from Paris and now a regular in the France national team, links with the Liverpool man’s hometown club were bound to crop up sooner or later.
And with Konate being back home to represent his country this week, RMC Sport took the opportunity to ask the Reds defender about a possible return to Paris.

“There are a lot of players in EDF [presumably the Premier League] who have moved to or play for PSG,” asks the reporter at a press conference. “Are the Parisians doing a little lobbying?”
Konate is clearly tickled by the brazenness of the question, and laughs happily throughout his answer.
“I’m not going to answer about what they do!” the 24-year-old chuckled. “But no, it’s true that I’m a Parisian, but I’m in Liverpool.”
Good answer Ibou, and you’re not going anywhere!
Konate faces PSG question
With Konate continuing to enhance his reputation at Liverpool, this was always likely to be a topic at some stage.
Thankfully, there doesn’t appear to be anything concrete in it. This was merely a case of a local reporter seeing the chance to ask a question a few people would have been thinking.
But as Konate becomes ever more regular in the France XI, PSG might start getting some ideas.

The Liverpool man has been superb in the 11 caps he’s collected for his country so far. Praise has come from all corners and Konate looks set to hold the shirt well into the future.
From a Reds point of view this is obviously good news. Didier Deschamps isn’t exactly short of options in defence, so to see Ibou get the nod is always welcome.
But it may also open the eyes of PSG to just how good he is. Marquinhos isn’t getting any younger and Milan Skriniar is looking like a shadow of the player we saw at Inter. It’s easy to see why Konate would be attractive.
Thankfully, Liverpool’s No.5 seems happy and settled at Anfield. This may be on the cards at some stage, but for now he’s completely committed to the Reds.
