Liverpool keep sending scouts to watch teenaged wonderkid who’s already made senior debut

Liverpool scouts are continuously being deployed to watch New York Red Bulls teenager Julian Hall.

Hall is one of the most highly-rated American prospects. Having made his senior debut for the Bulls last week, the 15-year-old is the second-youngest player in MLS history.

With that kind of reputation, it’s inevitable that there’s interest in Hall. And according to 90min, that interest comes from near-enough every top tier side in Europe.

Amongst them is, of course, Liverpool. The Reds are said to be ‘aware of the situation’ regarding Hall, which seems to be that he isn’t for sale until he turns 18.

Nevertheless, this reportedly hasn’t stopped Liverpool – as well as 11 other sides – from regularly sending scouts to watch the young man in action.

Liverpool keeping tabs on Hall

At this point, it would seem virtually impossible that Liverpool will be in a position to bring Hall to Anfield.

As they tend to do with many of their most highly rated young players, New York Red Bulls will likely send the American to Salzburg, before landing him at RB Leipzig.

Perhaps only then will the chance arise to sign Hall up, if indeed he does make it that far.

The Reds have an excellent relationship with Leipzig, and probably with sister club Salzburg as well, to be fair.

But it’s only once a player has proven himself in the Bundesliga that Liverpool will come knocking. They’ve gone straight to Salzburg in the past with Takumi Minamino, and although Taki had a good Reds career, it was clear what the ‘finishing school’ of Leipzig offers.

Of course, Hall is a long, long way from that yet. For the moment the young man just needs to keep enjoying his football – sorry, soccer – and continue developing.

Remember the name though, it may not be the last we’ve heard of this wonderkid. No doubt those Reds scouts will keep an eye on him in the years to come.
