Alan Shearer blown away by what one Liverpool man said after 2-1 Tottenham loss

Alan Shearer has lauded Jurgen Klopp for how the Liverpool manager reacted to the VAR controversy surrounding the Reds’ 2-1 loss against Tottenham.

Speaking on The Rest is Football, the pundit praised the Anfield boss on how he handled Saturday’s storm, with Klopp speaking well about the entire incident.

Luis Diaz had a goal incorrectly disallowed by VAR, and Klopp’s reaction was one that has won plaudits from many supporters and pundits, including Shearer.

Shearer said about Klopp’s comments after Liverpool’s loss against Tottenham: “I thought Jurgen spoke really well after the game you know.

“You could imagine how angry he was, seething. You can imagine him going into the dressing room but I thought he really kept his counsel after the game and spoke really well.

“And he’ll probably get a better response for that than coming out and hammering everyone and VAR and everything else. I thought he was really measured and was impressed with him after the game.”

Klopp should have been harsher after Liverpool injustice

Klopp is no stranger to speaking his mind, and the Liverpool manager could have easily ranted for hours on end over what happened this Saturday.

The German coach has lost is rag plenty of times in the past over multiple Liverpool incidents, yet Klopp spoke well this weekend in regards to the injustice the Reds were served.

Indeed, Klopp spoke with honesty and passion, and it’s no wonder why the likes of Shearer are impressed with what they’ve heard from the Anfield boss.
