Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was on it right from the start against Tottenham Hotspur today.
Salah has started the season on fire, with a goal contribution in every Premier League game so far. He looked to keep that going at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this afternoon.
And according to Gary Neville commentating for Sky Sports, the Egyptian looked good for it from the earliest minutes of the game.
“I haven’t watched him for a few weeks Mo Salah, but it takes just a few minutes to see his brilliance,” the pundit gushed.
“His touch is, I mean it’s absolutely simple, but brilliant.”
Salah mesmerises Neville
Probably the best example of just how good a footballer Mohamed Salah is came against LASK last week.
With Liverpool struggling to play particularly well on a horrendous surface, on came the Egyptian. Right from his first second on the pitch, Salah looked a cut above everyone esle.
That doesn’t always happen against better opposition in the Premier League, but it was so apparent out in Austria.
Even among top players though, Liverpool’s Egyptian King does regularly stand out.
The piece of play Neville was referring to today was indeed relatively simple, but only because Salah made it look that way.
The £34m man controlled a long pass with exquisite ease before laying a lovely ball across for Luis Diaz.
It wasn’t anything major, but it was an assured moment that signalled to Spurs that Mo meant business today. Unfortunately, despite perfectly setting up a debatable offside goal for Diaz, Salah ended the game without a goal involvement for the first time in a while.
