Chris Sutton has praised Darwin Nunez’s development this season, with the Liverpool attacker coming into his own this campaign.

Speaking on the It’s All Coming Up podcast, the pundit lauded the strides the 24-year-old striker has made in recent months, with Sutton saying: “He is clearly his own man and is a massive threat.”

With four goals in eight games in all competitions this season, Nunez is enjoying arguably his best football yet as a Liverpool since arriving last year.

The Uruguay international endured a mixed first season in England after joining from Benfica, though Nunez is now beginning to hit his true form under Jurgen Klopp.

Indeed, Nunez was arguably Liverpool’s best player in pre-season this summer, and the forward has really taken his game to new levels in the Premier League.

The main question now, though, will be if Nunez can maintain his form, with Liverpool’s other goalscoring attackers looking sharp as well this season.

Liverpool’s forward options are arguably the best in the Premier League, and Nunez needs to now be asserting himself as the man who will lead the Reds attack.

The 24-year-old is an exciting talent who this season has really shined after a productive summer, with Nunez now looking like a player who belongs in this Liverpool squad.

And in the coming weeks, the striker needs to put the centre-forward position on lock, with Nunez the best candidate to lead the line this season.
