Bayer Leverkusen have announced that Exequiel Palacios has signed a new contract with the club, despite recent links to Liverpool.
The Bundesliga side announced on their official website that the Argentine international had penned new terms with Leverkusen, with Palacios committing bid future to the club despite interest from Liverpool.
The Athletic reported in August that the midfielder was on Jurgen Klopp’s list of potential targets for the month, though Palacios is now going nowhere.

Leverkusen’s sporting director Simon Rolfes said about the deal: “Exequiel Palacios has established himself as an incredibly important player at the Werkself.
“The fact he was a key member of the Argentina team at the World Cup in Qatar underlines his qualities as a team and individual player.
“Exequiel has often and successfully put his exceptional power and aggression on the pitch as well as his strategic and playing qualities to the benefit of our team.”
Liverpool could regret missing out on Palacios

With two goals and two assists already for Xabi Alonso’s side, Palacios has started the new season in fine fashion, much to Liverpool’s dismay.
The Reds were clearly interested in the South American this summer, and the midfielder’s form coupled with a new contract could lead to Liverpool regret not moving for Palacios.
Indeed, the midfielder is still young and has plenty of time in his career to move to the Premier League, yet Liverpool could have made the swoop this summer when Palacios is performing as well as he is.
