Liverpool maintained their Premier League winning run as the Reds bested West Ham 3-1 in an entertaining clash at Anfield.

Here are our player ratings from the fixture as Liverpool climbed to second in the standings, now sitting just two points off Manchester City.

Defence

Alisson Becker: 8 – Unable to do much to stop Jarrod Bowen from scoring just before the break, but West Ham would have scored more had it not been for Alisson Becker’s ‘world-class’ brilliance.

Joe Gomez: 6 – Again replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez couldn’t have done much against an in-form Lucas Paqueta, who shone at Anfield against the 26-year-old defender.

Joel Matip: 5 – Given the start by Jurgen Klopp, Joel Matip will be disappointed with his performance against West Ham, who managed to target the defender’s weakness to their advantage.

Virgil van Dijk: 7 – Returned to Liverpool’s Premier League start after suspension, but clearly missed playing alongside Ibrahima Konate at the back despite assisting Diogo Jota late on.

Andy Robertson: 6 – Impressed in the attacking half but was too lax at the back, allowing Jarrod Bowen to expose Liverpool’s backline with ease and precision.

Midfield

Dominik Szoboszlai: 7 – Silky as always in midfield and was at the centre of all of Liverpool’s midfield action, with West Ham struggling to contain the Hungarian.

Alexis Mac Allister: 5 – Did well to assist Darwin Nunez but again struggled in the holding midfield role. Jurgen Klopp needs a new plan for Alexis Mac Allister, with the Argentine not suited to sitting deep.

Curtis Jones: 6 – Was unlucky to have a goal ruled off for offside just before the break, yet the England youth international again put in a good shift for Liverpool.

Attack

Mohamed Salah: 8 – Won the penalty in the opening half and buried the ball from the spot to put Liverpool ahead.

Darwin Nunez: 7 – Made a statement for Liverpool with an impressive goal to put the Reds ahead, with Darwin Nunez again making the impossible look easy with a sensational flying finish.
