Ian Wright has been giving his answers to some him or them questions today and got onto the topic of Liverpool star Mo Salah in doing so.
Speaking on the FIVE YouTube channel, Wright was tasked with comparing a number of players and then choosing who he’d rather have out of the two. Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka were two who came up, before the question of Salah and Real Madrid’s Vinicius cropped up as well.
And emphatically, Wright picked the Liverpool man over Vinicius.

Going into the detail of how long Salah has done it for and how he still continues to succeed, Wright had no qualms in selecting the Reds star over the Brazilian.
“Vinicius or Mo Salah?” Wright was asked.
“Yeah, I think if you go for anything other than Mo with what Mo has done. What you have to say about Mo is that when Liverpool signed him from Roma you were a bit like ‘Mo Salah?’ But he hasn’t looked back. That man has just got in the fast lane and still has his foot on the pedal. That’s why these people are offering crazy money. I’m going to say Mo Salah for what he has done,” Wright said.
Salah has once again been in good goalscoring and assisting form this term. The Egyptian was the subject of heavy interest from Saudi Arabia in the summer but remained at the club in the end.
RTK’s View: Salah is world class
Really, you’d take any of these two players in your XI right now. Both Salah and Vinicius are tremendous players and in time, Vinicius might eclipse the Liverpool star.
But as Wright says, the sheer consistency of Salah makes him stand out and the fact Saudi were willing to chuck so much money at him this summer says a lot.
Salah will go down as one of the all-time Liverpool greats and when he’s looked back on, there’ll be some huge memories and moments to remember.
