Alan Shearer has tipped Liverpool to sell Mohamed Salah in January if they receive a big offer for the 31-year-old.

Speaking on the Rest Is Football Podcast, the Match of the Day pundit claimed that the Anfield side might be tempted to offload Salah if a ‘ridiculous offer’ is made again for the winger.

The Liverpool forward was subject to immense interest from Saudi Arabia this summer, with a £125m bid being made by Al-Ittihad for Salah.

However, Shearer now thinks that Liverpool won’t be able to reject another massive offer for Salah in January considering the finances that might be on the table.

The pundit said: “If you’re getting north of £150m for someone of that age. I get why it didn’t happen because they came in so late and wouldn’t have had time to get a replacement.

“But, if they know they’re coming back in January with a ridiculous offer then they’ve got time to find a replacement and again it depends on where they are I think. But I think they’d bite at £150m in January.”

Saudi Arabia are showing no signs in slowing down in their interest for Salah, and a bid worth £150m could actually be made for the winger in January.

Should such a bid come in, Liverpool might be helpless in stopping Salah from leaving, with that kind of money simply too good to turn down.

Indeed, with time on Liverpool’s side, a replacement can be lined up for Salah in preparation for a new Saudi Arabia offer, which the Reds could be braced to accept already.
