Liverpool are reportedly intrigued by Bruno Guimaraes’ potential new release clause, with the Newcastle United midfielder set to sign a new contract with an exit option.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Brazilian international’s new deal with the Magpies could include an exit clause worth over £100m, something that could entice Liverpool to make a move in 2024.

The Reds were linked with Guimaraes this summer as Liverpool looked to add the 25-year-old to their midfielder ranks, though a deal was shut down immediately by Newcastle.

Since then, the Toon are working hard to sign Guimaraes to a new deal, yet the prospect of a release clause being included in the contract has grown in recent weeks.

And Liverpool could take advantage of this option, especially if Guimaraes and Newcastle fail to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Indeed, with the Reds already keeping a close eye on Guimaraes’ contract situation, every signal seems to indicate another move for the midfielder in 2024.

Guimaraes has taken the Premier League by storm since joining Newcastle in January 2022, and the midfielder would be an ideal signing for Liverpool next year.

The Brazilian is one of the best in the division and a player who is only getting better with each new season for Newcastle, with Liverpool an obvious next step for Guimaraes.

And with the midfielder close to signing a new contract with a release clause, Liverpool have to take advantage of such a prospect in 2024, with Guimaraes a dream signing for Jurgen Klopp.
