Peter Crouch has predicted Liverpool to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.
Speaking on TNT Sports via the Mirror, the former England international made the claim live on air that Liverpool’s improvements could be enough to put the Reds back in the mix for top honours.
Liverpool have started the season in impressive fashion having won four of their opening five matches, with Jurgen Klopp’s side coming from behind yesterday to beat Wolves 3-1.

And former player Crouch now thinks Liverpool could have what it takes to compete with the likes of City and Arsenal for the Premier League title, with the Anfield side certainly having the quality to go all the way.
Crouch said: “City are obviously the side to beat. City probably will have just too much, but if you think about the way Liverpool were last year and the improvements they’ve made, they’re right back in the mix.

“I think Liverpool and Arsenal will be the two teams in and around City, and hopefully they take it right to the wire. Big improvements this year from Liverpool.”
Liverpool can compete for the Premier League if they avoid injury crisis

Liverpool, on paper, have a squad that can compete for the Premier League title. Though beyond their best starting XI, quality cover options become a real problem.
Should something major happen to the likes of Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk or Mohamed Salah, Liverpool simply don’t have the players waiting in the wings to compete in the Premier League.
And as a result, the Reds will want to hope that they avoid another injury crisis, something that arguably stopped Liverpool from qualifying for top-four last season.
