Marcelo Bielsa has issued a concerning injury update on Darwin Nunez, with the Liverpool forward going off injured for Uruguay this week.
Speaking to ESPN, the Charruas manager revealed that Nunez didn’t start the game in the best form, with the striker being forced off just after half-time due to a muscle problem.
Whilst Nunez is expected to be available for Liverpool this weekend, Bielsa’s injury update on the attacker doesn’t make for great reading for Anfield supporters.

However, the Uruguay manager made the right call to take Nunez off as early as he did, with Bielsa potentially saving the Liverpool attacker from a major injury.
Bielsa said: “Darwin came out because he didn’t arrive well for the match, he had muscular difficulties and that limited his mobility.

“I thought it was a good idea to replace him because he couldn’t take on the rhythm of the game when we had to press or attack. He made a great effort, but you could see that he wasn’t at his best.”
Nunez will hope to be back this weekend from injury

Nunez has started the season for Liverpool on a tear, and for many fans, the 24-year-old missing this weekend’s clash against Wolves will feel like a huge blow.
Although the attacker was taken off for Uruguay, the damage could already be done, with Nunez potentially a doubt for Liverpool this Saturday.
And based off Bielsa’s comments, Nunez might have to be rested this weekend, with a run out on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League a potential idea.
