Liverpool could reportedly plot a January move to sign AFC Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly, who was a late target for the Reds this summer.
According to journalist Dean Jones, the 24-year-old Premier League star could be on Liverpool’s radar as plans for the January transfer window start being made.
Liverpool failed to sign a defender in the summer as a midfield overhaul took priority after the sales of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, with James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving for free.

Yet Liverpool now look ready to address this issue in the new year, and Kelly could be a target for Jurgen Klopp’s side if a deal can be struck with Bournemouth.
Labelled by former Cherries boss Gary O’Neil as an ‘incredible’ player, Kelly has proven with Bournemouth that he’s more than ready to a move to one of the Premier League top-six.

And Liverpool could be that club this January, with the Reds in need of some defensive depth as well as a long-term replacement for the likes of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.
Liverpool should make Kelly a top target in January

Kelly is one of the most underrated defenders in the Premier League, and for Liverpool, the 24-year-old could be an exceptional signing heading into the future.
The Bournemouth star is accomplished in multiple defensive positions and would be a welcome addition for a club like Liverpool were numbers are short at the back.
Moreover, Bournemouth could be tempted to sell if a big enough offer comes in, one that Liverpool might make if they feel Kelly is worth the investment.
