Fabrizio Romano has teased that Liverpool could still have a real shot at signing Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade.
Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, the transfer guru revealed that the Reds remain in talks with the Brazilian side for the 22-year-old, who was strongly linked with Liverpool in the summer.
Andre seemed keen on a move to Anfield, but Fluminense’s participation in the Copa Libertadores meant that the Rio de Janeiro side were unwilling to part with their star player despite interest from Liverpool.

However, the Merseyside club remain interested in Andre, and Romano has now said that the ‘special’ Brazilian could still find himself as a Liverpool player in 2024.
Romano said: “It’s not over, it’s still something we have to keep an eye on because Liverpool really like Andre. They had positive conversations with Fluminense, they have good relationships.

“Fluminense were showing how strong they are in the Brazilian and South American market as they said no way the player is leaving, so credit to Fluminense, it was not easy, but I think Liverpool will keep monitoring the player.”
Liverpool have to try for Andre in January

Andre is one of the most exciting players in all of South America who has shown in the last 12 months that he is more than ready for a move to Europe in 2024.
And Liverpool have to be the side that wins the midfielder’s signature, with the Reds chasing Andre for too long to now miss out on the 22-year-old.
With a midfield spot still open for the Reds, Andre could be the ideal addition as a replacement for the likes of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, with an energetic player needed in the position.
