Liverpool are now reportedly scouting Tromso IL wonderkid Jens Hjerto-Dahl, with the 17-year-old regarded as one of Norway’s biggest talents.

According to Nordlys, the midfielder has ended up on the Anfield side’s radar with some major clubs in Scandinavia also tracking Hjerto-Dahl, namely Danish giants Brondby.

Lauded by the publication as an ‘exceptional’ talent, Liverpool had scouts in attendance to watch Hjerto-Dahl this weekend on the international stage with Norway’s U-18s.

With Hjerto-Dahl already a regular in Norway’s top-flight with Tromso, it might not be long until the midfielder is heading to Liverpool, with the youngster turning 18 next month.

Indeed, Liverpool are no strangers to signing Scandinavian talents, and Hjerto-Dahl could join an illustrious list that already contains the likes of Sami Hyppia, John-Arne Riise and Daniel Agger.

And Hjerto-Dahl might be tempted by a move to Liverpool, especially with the Reds still in the market for another central midfielder to add to their ranks in January.

Hjerto-Dahl is well on his way to becoming the latest superstar in Norway’s arsenal this generation alongside Martin Odegaard and Erling Haaland.

And for Liverpool, the midfielder could be quite the long-term project if they can convince Hjerto-Dahl to snub some top clubs in Scandinavia in favour of a move to England.

Whilst minutes could be hard to come by initially, Hjerto-Dahl could become a top pro for Liverpool if given time and the right development plan to follow, with the midfielder potentially worth the investment.
